Deadline Approaching- Unpartnered EPPs and LEAs

Thursday, January 8th is the deadline for new EPP and LEA partners to complete Section VII of the TDOE Grow Your Own (GYO) registered teacher apprenticeship program application. On November 16th, the TN GYO Center will host a dedicated time for TN’s unpartnered school districts that may be finishing up applications for the January 8th deadline. Please plan to join the monthly LEA Connect call at 10:00 am Eastern time here. A designated Q & A time for unpartnered districts will occur at the end of the meeting. The TN GYO Center is looking forward to connecting with all LEAs who want to learn more about opportunities to expand their talent pipeline through Grow Your Own programs at the high school, associates, baccalaureate, and post-baccalaureate levels.

Are you wondering what the future of Grow Your Own will be in Tennessee? Thanks to an allocation from the TN Governor’s budget and continued partnership with local workforce development boards (LWDBs), the GYO Center will continue to support school district leaders around the state in the implementation of this important strategy. There will also be GYO scholarships available through EPP partners starting in the summer/fall of 2024. As we shift to this sustainable model, it is the TN GYO center’s goal to continuously create and improve processes that make GYO the most valuable tool that LEAs have available to solve their talent pipeline challenges.
