Teaching as a Profession (TAP)
Teaching as a Profession (TAP) is designed for students aspiring to become teachers, school counselors, librarians or speech-language pathologists. This program covers teaching and classroom management strategies, lesson planning, special populations, educational technology and professional development. TAP serves as an entry point into Tennessee’s Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Program, providing aspiring educators with essential skills, hands-on experience and dual enrollment opportunities.
How Does TAP help us with our Grow Your Own district work?
Pre-apprenticeships are programs designed to prepare candidates for Registered Apprenticeship Programs. By working with high school juniors and seniors, the TAP program helps students get early exposure to the teaching profession and move closer to meeting the requirements to be eligible for participation in a RAP.
